0100 Essay Series — Epilogue
The braided road is only just beginning
When I started the 0100 essay series over two years ago, I set out to finish one hundred short and medium length essays so that I could accomplish a few personal writing goals. I soon realized how ambitious this was as I strove to finish essay #50 by the end of the first year.
The second year, I adjusted my pace and experimented with my timeline for publishing. Dispatch From the Edge of a City became The Sunday Dispatch, a weekly series where I focused on development and resilience particular to the urban-rural zone, as I live in one. I have a vision for the evolution of the dispatch, which is its own collection within the 0100 series.
As I approached writing the last ten essays at the end of summer, I had no idea that they would include a devastating life altering event. Finishing this series became a lifeline through trauma. This is how the Morning Bulletin arrived, as if a base camp at the foot of a mountain. This brief collection weighs in at seven, including one from a lazy afternoon in the hot sun. I allowed short form for these 2-minute reads.
