Life is Sometimes Grey

When you need to cross a metaphorical desert.

We are in limbo.

It is a strange state of in-between greyness, this fog of uncertainty.

In my younger years, I would become frustrated trying to do something, but I’ve realized that sometimes all there is to do is wait. Just wait for circumstances to change on their own.

Sure, there are some things to do, but they are background changes, long changes. Things that take time.

It is ok to be patient.

We are once again crossing deserts. Crossing takes time.

We have been blessed with time.

Yet, in this strange era, I’ve noticed the frailty of my relationships with others, whether friends or extended family. It is a lonely realization.

I seem to navigate a life difficult to comprehend. It’s too much for others to understand or want to be near.

I think it’s mostly the difference between social classes. Perhaps also family identity and status. A few sociological factors at play, of course.

It’s not that strange, though. Really, it is just an American life. American life is rife with hardship.

This is just my version.

I will dress for the desert and continue on my way.
